The following software can be downloaded on your own devices, for free.

Adobe Creative Cloud: Adobe has temporarily enabled their Home Use licence to allow University staff and students to use their software from home. Follow these instructions (HudHelp login required) to set up access to Creative Cloud software at home.

Data analysis software: SPSS, Nvivo and Minitab are all available to download from the IT webpages.
UniDesktop enables you to use a range of University software on your own desktop, laptop or tablet while you are away from the University.
The majority of software is provided using a ‘virtual desktop environment’ that mirrors (as much as our software licensing allows) what you would normally have access to in the Library and School computer labs.
A small range of commonly used software is also available as individual applications.
Guide to UniDesktop: Information related to accessing UniDesktop and its services. Including user guides for Windows, Mac and Smart devices.
While working remotely during the COVID-19 health crisis, we recommend using OneDrive as the best way to access your files wherever you are.
OneDrive is cloud storage from Microsoft which gives you 1TB of file space. You can access your files from any browser using the Office365 tab in your UniMail. You can also download the OneDrive app to your computer and mobile device to access your files across devices.
For more information, see the IT webpages.
All students at the University have a personal storage space on the network with the drive letter K:, with a minimum of 2GB storage (students on some courses may have a higher limit).
