Management & Business: Journals & books

Journal databases

Most of the Library's journal articles can be found using Summon. For advanced searching capabilities, these journal databases contain abstracts of journal articles (and often conference proceedings, books and theses) in business and related fields. They often, but do not always, link to the full text of these items. For more information on using electronic journal databases, see our library guide to journals.

Harvard Business Review

Harvard Business Review

Harvard Business Review is a magazine which contains insight into contemporary business topics and research-based opinion pieces from experts.

Some electronic articles from Harvard Business Review can be found on their website. Others will be available through our library subscription to the Business Source Complete database. To search the whole journal, search for Harvard Business Review in the Library Journals Search, then follow the link from here to the HBR page on EBSCOHost Business Source Complete. This page should have an option to 'Search within this publication'.

Some articles will be available in full-text to read online. For others, only the abstract will be available online, and you will need to find the printed copy in the magazine issues in the Library. To find this you will need to make a note of the article title, date, volume, issue and page numbers. These details will help you to locate the correct issue on the Library shelves.

Printed journals and magazines including Harvard Business Review are kept on Floor 5 of the library, shelved in alphabetical order by title. They are in the rolling shelving in the area behind the lift/toilets (next to Floor 5 area D on this map). You can also view this area before you visit on our 3D walk-throughs. Please follow the instructions on display for safely operating the rolling shelves.
