Students at Partner Organisations: Home

A guide for students not based at the main University campus, and attending one of our partner institutions.

Introduction

A recent photo of the university of Huddersfield campus with several modern looking buildings visible

Welcome to this guide for Students at Partner Institutions, that is, any of the University of Huddersfield Courses that are run in partnership with other universities, colleges, and other organisations. You'll be doing a course somewhere that leads to a University of Huddersfield qualification, even if you might never visit Huddersfield itself.

Most of you will be in institutions with a local library or learning centre. They will provide the bulk of your print resources and any support you need, and as such will be your first port of call with any enquiries. Other partner institutions may not have their own in-house library or learning centre; in this case your tutor will be the first person to ask, as they will be able to help with finding, using and referencing the right resources.

In all cases, as you are a University of Huddersfield student, you will have access to a wide range of resources, support and services that the University of Huddersfield library offers, and we have compiled some of them into this LibGuide.

Here you can find links to useful resources, help with using the online library, links to our referencing support, and information on where to go for extra help.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at library@hud.ac.uk

Local Support

Some of our partners have their own in-house library or learning resource centre (LRC), which should be your first port of call for print resources and any help and support. In this case, for most questions or issues with finding information for your studies, make sure you go to your local library / LRC staff first.

Your tutors may also be able to help with many questions in finding, using, and referencing information for your assignments, and can guide you towards the right resources.

We are here as backup support, especially to help with the use of University of Huddersfield resources and subscriptions, so while you should go to your local library staff first, you should also feel comfortable coming to Huddersfield staff for help if needed.

HudHelp is the main route to get IT and Library support, you'll find many frequently asked questions answered there, as well as links to further support and to ask further questions.
