Adjusting to studying and working at home in the midst of this health crisis can be difficult. On this page are some online resources which may help you to relax and unwind, or to learn new skills, and also some links to wellbeing services. Don't forget to take regular screen breaks!

Big White Wall

Our University Wellbeing support services have a range of self-help materials on their website, including podcasts, links to useful websites, and the Big White Wall support service.


Fika App

The University is offering access to mental fitness app Fika, an additional tool to stay motivated, productive, focused and connected during this period of remote work and study. Download Fika for free from your app store, and search for the University of Huddersfield, then sign up with you university email address. More instructions here.

Fika has created a dedicated series of programmes specifically designed to help combat the challenges of remote study and the mental health impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. Programmes and audio guides cover topics including managing distractions and uncertainty, maintaining motivation and positivity, staying connected, self-care and healthy habits. 

Gain invaluable insights into the science behind our mental health and develop the seven skills of Mental Fitness: focus, confidence, motivation, connection, positivity, meaning and managing stress



NHS and MInd Websites


The NHS and Mental health charity Mind also offer free resources for wellbeing on their websites.
