Studying online in the midst of this global health crisis can be difficult. On this page are some online resources which may help you to relax and unwind, or learn new skills. You will also find links to key wellbeing services. Don't forget to take regular screen breaks!

Wellbeing & Mental Health

Wellbeing Support Services

Our University Wellbeing support services have a range of self-help materials on their website, including podcasts, reading materials, and links to useful websites. There is also access to the Togetherall confidential 24/7 support service and one to one support from Advisers.

Reading Well books

The Library and The Wellbeing Support team have created a Reading Well selection, which provides you with key reading materials on a variety of wellbeing topics. You can read some of these materials online, or retrieve them from the library. 

Fika App

The University is offering access to mental fitness app Fika, an additional tool to stay motivated, productive, focused and connected whilst studying online. Download Fika for free from your app store, and search for the University of Huddersfield, then sign up with you university email address. More instructions here.

Fika has created a dedicated series of programmes specifically designed to help combat the challenges of remote study and the mental health impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. Programmes and audio guides cover topics including managing distractions and uncertainty, maintaining motivation and positivity, staying connected, self-care and healthy habits.

 

 

Useful websites

The NHS offers free resources to support wellbeing on their website, as do mental health charities such as Mind, Rethink and The Blurt Foundation.
