A guide to Open Access at the University of Huddersfield

The PLOS Flat Fee Agreement provides unlimited publishing in seven PLOS journals (PLOS Computational Biology, PLOS Pathogens, PLOS Genetics, PLOS Neglected Tropical Diseases, PLOS ONE, PLOS Digital Health, and PLOS Complex Systems) for corresponding authors at the University.

To be eligible under this agreement articles must have an acceptance date after the 1st January 2024 and meet the following Author, Journal and Article type criteria.

 

Eligible Authors

To be eligible under this agreement the corresponding author, i.e. the person who handles the manuscript and correspondence during the publication process, must be employed by or affiliated with the University of Huddersfield.

Authors must use their University of Huddersfield email address and ensure they select the 'University of Huddersfield' as their affiliation in the Editorial Manager. Please click here for further instructions

 

Eligible Journals
  • PLOS ONE: is an inclusive journal community working together to advance science for the benefit of society, now and in the future.   • PLOS Computational Biology: provides substantial new insight into living systems at all scales, from the nano to the macro, and across multiple disciplines, from molecular science, neuroscience and physiology to ecology and population biology.
  • PLOS Digital Health: drives transformation in the delivery of equitable and unbiased healthcare through ethically conducted, impactful, immediately accessible research from our diverse community of engineers, clinicians and researchers, as well as social scientists and industry leaders, from around the world.
  • PLOS Genetics: publishes human studies, as well as research on model organisms—from mice and flies, to plants and bacteria. Our emphasis is on studies of broad interest that provide significant insight into a biological process or processes. 
  • PLOS Neglected Tropical Diseases: is dedicated to research that addresses the neglected, the forgotten, and the under-resourced, in order to improve the health and prosperity of all the world’s people. 
  • PLOS Pathogens: is a community-driven and Open Access journal publishing ground-breaking work that significantly advances our understanding of pathogen biology or pathogen-host interactions.
